You don’t need to be scared of the dentist any more!
Dental Fear
Thinking about going to the dentist gives you a lump in your throat. The smell as you walk in makes you palms sweaty. Just seeing the sign for a dentist might be enough to make you cross the road in case you can hear the noise of the drill.
You’re convinced you’ve left it too long. You’re ashamed of the state of your mouth but you can’t handle the thought of what might need to be done to put it right. Or being told off because your teeth are so bad.
“No-one sets out to have bad teeth, it happens as a result of life circumstances. Its not my place to make someone feel worse, just to help them get beyond their fears”
— karen sutton, no fear here dentist
I have been a qualified dentist for over 26 years. During that time I have spent a lot of time looking after people just like you. I work at a dental practice in Malvern, Worcestershire and I would guess that 80% of my working day is spent helping people who would describe themselves as ‘dental phobics’.
I am a hobby jogger, and can be seen running on the hills and roads of Worcestershire and Herefordshire. I raise money for Malvern Community Action a charity close to my heart. My 2 kids keep me busy and so does my other hobby of Morris dancing. I might be the only Morris dancing Dentist in the UK. Let me know if you know another one.

No Fear Here
No Fear Here is the way I look after my clients in person. It’s a way of thinking. It’s the way everyone deserves to be treated. The No Fear Here path can be followed from anxiety and pain to freedom and smiles!
36%
of UK population with ‘moderate dental anxiety’
12%
of UK population with ‘extreme dental anxiety or phobia’
29%
Of people living with regular dental pain
The right dentist to help you is important. Many dentists, like me, are particularly skilled at looking after people with dental fears. Their practice may well feel relaxed and the dental team will take your concerns into account. You may be able to have a tour of the building before booking an appointment, or be able to meet someone other than the dentist to chat about your worries.
Feel free from your dental fear! It is possible……….
Your Mouth Problems
You may think your teeth are the absolute worse the dentist has ever seen! I have lost count of the number of people who have said this to me. The good news is they probably aren’t. You might be surprised that things aren’t as bad as you thought. Dental pain is horrible, and teeth that are hurting can make you feel very poorly. This doesn’t mean, however, that all your teeth are bad. Or that your teeth aren’t saveable.
My best advice is find out the actual truth about your teeth. Don’t let your fears make things worse than they are. Its time to get real. Build your plan. And move forward
